The Importance of Literacy

The Literacy Walk is an outdoor activity for people of all ages, which takes place in a park setting. It is designed to augment traditional study of literary works in English and Language Arts.

Individuals are dressed in authentic garb re-enacting different events throughout our nation’s history. The areas addressed throughout the Literacy Walk are classic myths and stories from historic events around the world. This unique approach of studying literature will enable students/adults to see, hear, and experience first-hand these literary works with greater clarity.
